You know you must resist the authoritative control and break the chains of misguided dance culture. You are not part of the flock, (some sort of lemur amongst the masses of other lemurs) rubbing your fur together to make a spark. You require a handy break-through into the real underground movement, the invite to be a part of the worldwide exodus. The liberation. Because you are a REBEL.

The Rebel Rave crew, the ultimate in musical oddballs and misfits, are responsible for some of the most exciting sounds and new directions in dance music, both behind the decks and as cutting edge producers. The Rebel Ravers will lead club goers on a musical odyssey, displaying their unique twist on the electronic scene. Well known for their love of the rave, the Rebel Crew will ignite dancefloors with their fresh sound and fun party antics.

Kicking off February 4, 2009 in Newport Beach, the tour will take in over 20 North American dates across USA, Canada and Mexico, culminating in the 5th birthday of the Crosstown Rebels’ infamous Get Lost party at Electric Pickle at Miami’s WMC on March 27, 2010 before heading off to Europe. The tour will feature killer DJ sets and special back-to-back sessions, as well as the debut live performances from Rebels’ latest shining star, new signing Deniz Kurtel.

The Rebels are ready to unleash the incredible new electronic musical hope, Deniz Kurtel, on the world. With her debut single ‘Yeah’ already being hailed as an all time classic, Turkish born Deniz, will present her first ever performances alongside a self-made LED light installation which she has created for the tour.

In early 2010, Crosstown Rebels will release artist albums from London based soulful producer Glimpse and newcomer Deniz Kurtel. Also scheduled for release are brand new singles from Laurent Garnier, Freaks and stunning new singles from Seth Troxler, recently named number eight DJ in the world by Resident Advisor, and Jamie Jones, who took home DJ Mag’s Best of British awards for best producer and best single of 2009.

Damian Lazarus, whose ‘Diamond in the Dark’, the third single from his critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Smoke the Monster Out’, will be released in February, says:

“The Rebel Rave tour is a great opportunity for all the Rebel family to gather together for awesome parties at some of the best clubs in the world. We bring a special sense of fun to the dancefloor, our combined sound is second to none and our followers across America know to expect the unexpected. Get ready to Rave”.

The Rebel Rave tour will be accompanied by a double Rebel Rave compilation CD, showcasing the very best of Crosstown Rebels, past, present and future. A special issue of the visually stunning Rebel Rave TV series, from director David Terranova, will be filmed throughout the tour for broadcast in April.

Rebel Rave TV recently inked a deal with one of America’s largest cable TV providers Comcast. Rebel Rave TV will air on Comcast’s A&R Channel, beaming all the magic and mystery of the Crosstown Rebels to over 17 million US homes.

Other artists joining in the fun during the 2 month US tour include Glimpse, Mr C, Matt Tolfrey and Konrad Black… with a massive festival style line up gathering together for the last date of the tour at Electric Pickle in Miami.

Saturday October 3rd 2009 @ La Strada!

Join us & 300+ of our closest friends
for a big, bad, bass filled, Libra crew b-day bashment
as well as the OFFICIAL PRAIA URBANA AFTERPARTY!

IT’S TIME TO GET GRITSY!!!

NO COVER BEFORE 11PM W/ FACEBOOK RSVP!
NO COVER BEFORE 11PM W/ FACEBOOK RSVP!

If you’re not in tune w/ the Gritsy movement, here’s a little background
by Karma Houston’s very own John Tran [Kung Fu Pimp]:

Imagine the 1st time you went to a club, heard a completely different type
of music than from the radio & being instantly hooked!

Add a fine tuned soundsystem, colorfully designed flyers, sexy lights, sexy beats,
great DJs, an avid crowd & you have GRITSY!

Still trying to figure out what GRITSY & DUBSTEP is all about? READ ON!

Here is a definition of dubstep according to our good friend, Joe Nice,
the stateside’s #1 selector [dj], of the dubstep sound:

Deep in the heart of South London’s underground lies a sound that percolates
in the streets and vibrates the speakers…dubstep is the soundtrack.

A vibe that rests on the edge of relaxation and explosion, that flourishes
in the middle ground of the comfortable sounds of soulful house and the unbridled energy of drum & bass…..

Music made in London — forged from multicultural influences, syncopated rhythms and loads of bass.

Don’t know what exactly GRITSY is?

GRITSY, the party that first brought the dubstep sound to H-town, is just a straight up PARTY
with some wonderful peoples, great djs/selectors, and a soundsystem that’ll make your body SHAKE
with some serious BASS!

Houston’s one & only drum & bass monthly is turning a year old and doing it BIG!

For one very special night only…

We’re taking over a dope new venue, setting up a downstairs second area hosted by our GRITSY brothers in bass & last but not least… invited a very special guest from LONDON, UK to set the candles on the cake on FIRE!!!!

KLUTE!

Klute is the primary recording alias of Tom Withers, the respected drum and bass and techno Producer and DJ from London, UK.

In 2001 he established the label Commercial Suicide. This label received widespread acclaim in the electronic music community. The track “Time 4 Change” from “No One’s Listening Anymore” was the last tune played on-air by John Peel.

Commercial Suicidel has also released tracks from artists like Amit, Break, Digital, Spirit, Calibre, Hive, SKC and Chris Su, establishing itself as one of the bigger players in drum and bass.

Klute’s style of drum and bass is strongly influenced by techno. It is deep and progressive, with flavours of house, dub and trance, and frequent use of vocals. Although Klute is one of the most melodic and musical producers in drum and bass, his tracks are still typically intended for the DJ and dancefloor. They should not be classified alongside the atmospheric or “intelligent” drum and bass popularised by LTJ Bukem, nor should they be considered to be liquid funk
